"Only a nation whose people are willing to be guided by a Moral Code can truly be free!" This was a harsh reality that was well known by "Our Nation's Founders", but that modern America has forgotten. In other words, If "We The People aren't willing to treat each other the way we want to be treated, then our people will simply need to be supervised." A Police State would then need to be advanced to keep the people safe from each other, and "American Freedom" would soon be relegated to the libraries of history !.

There have been several other Patriotic Americans over the years with similar beliefs:
“If men will not be governed by God, they will be ruled by tyrants.”
William Penn
“By removing the Bible from schools we would be wasting so much time and money in punishing criminals and so little pains to prevent crime."
:Take the Bible out of our schools and there would be an explosion in crime.”
“Without religion there can be no virtue, and without virtue there can be no liberty, and liberty is the object and life of all Republican governments.”
Benjamin Rush…Founding Father and “Christocrat”
“Is there no virtue among us? If there be not, we are in a wretched situation. No theoretical checks, no form of government, can render us secure. To suppose that any form of government will secure liberty or happiness without any virtue in the people, is a chimerical idea.”
James Madison
“Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.”
Benjamin Franklin
“Neither the wisest constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people
whose manners are universally corrupt"
Samuel Adams Essay in the Public Advertiser, 1749
“In this day of gathering storms, as moral deterioration of political power spreads it’s growing infection, it is essential that every spiritual force be mobilized to defend and preserve the religious base upon which this nation is founded; for it has been that base which has been the motivating impulse to our moral and national growth. History fails to record a single precedent in which nations subject to moral decay have not passed into political and economic decline. There has been either a spiritual re-awakening to overcome the moral lapse or a progressive deterioration leading to ultimate national disaster”
General Douglas MacArthur…December 1951
“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports….And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail to the exclusion of religious principle.”
George Washington
